Bite into some of our favorites, served every day from 2:30 p.m. to close. Try our yummy BBQ Prawns with Chive Biscuits, Slow Braised Willamette Valley Lamb Chili or Cast Iron Skillet Penn Cove Mussels, Coriander Lime Salt and Chorizo Butter.
Happy Hour
Every day from 4 p.m to 6 p.m. and every night from 10 to 12 midnight (and Sundays from 3 p.m to 11 p.m.), nibble on our Tavern Bites for just $3 an item. We guarantee you'll be very happy. 'Hard Hat Happy Hour' Enjoy an extended happy hour Monday through Friday. Sit back and relax until 7 pm instead of spending $3 a gallon sitting in traffic.
The Kentucky Derby
We are celebrating the Kentucky Derby with a total bourbon immersion! Join us Saturday, May 5th at 6 pm for 5 courses paired with bourbons from the Sazerac family. Executive Chef Tom Dunklin designed a special menu to include Halibut Sashimi, Bourbon Marinated with Puffed Rice and Seared Squab Breast with Confit Apple Fritter, Cucumber Broth and Almond Milk Foam. We will have a bourbon guru to talk us through our bourbon. Everything is included for $75 and person. The event is limited to 20 guests so reserve your spot!
Bring the Kids
Kids will love our menu created just for them. They can dive in to our Roast House Macaroni & Oregon Cheddar Cheese or make their own Pizza, which we'll bake in our brick pizza oven. And what could be a better finish than an Old-Fashioned Root Beer Float (we serve ours with housemade vanilla ice cream).

We offer a perfect place for your next private event, whether you need meeting rooms, banquet rooms or a conference hall in downtown Portland. The warm ambiance and delicious American menu provides an ideal setting and mouthwatering fare for any special occasion. From birthday parties, graduation celebrations and anniversary dinners to bridal showers, post-wedding brunches, holiday happenings and more, we are happy to help with all the details.
Red Star offers the entire restaurant, seating up to 200 guests, for private parties. In addition, we can accommodate 75 seated guests or 125 people for a reception in our private bi-level Club Room. Decorated in jewel tones, murals and mahogany woods like our restaurant dining room, this room can be arranged in any style you wish, classroom to banquet style, making it an ideal downtown Portland private dining venue.
Six beautiful private rooms at the adjacent Fifth Avenue Suites Hotel are also available for business meetings up to 60 people or receptions up to 200 guests.
